Installing Boom & First Launch

Installing Boom

Section titled “Installing Boom”
  1. Locate Boom.dmg in your Downloads folder after downloading from the website. Open it by double-clicking.
  2. Drag and drop the Boom app icon onto the Applications folder when the window appears.
  3. Boom is now installed. You can eject the DMG file from your desktop or through Finder.

First Launch

Section titled “First Launch”
  1. Open the Boom.app file from your Applications folder by double-clicking it. A security warning will appear; click “Open.” You’ll then be prompted to sign in to Boom with your Google account.
  2. Boom will request permission to access your camera and install the camera extension. Click “Open System Settings.”
  3. For macOS 14 Sonoma: Click “Allow” and enter your password if prompted. For macOS 15 Sequoia: Toggle to grant Boom access, then click “Done” and enter your password if prompted.
  4. Select your video input from the dropdown menu to complete setup.
